AUSTIN — July 18, 2026 — Yorkseed today announced that Yorkseed House will return to Austin for SXSW 2027, marking the series' second Austin edition and bringing it full circle to the city where Yorkseed itself began. A waitlist is now open ahead of full programming details.
Yorkseed House's original Austin edition, hosted in partnership with The Lively & Grit Daily House, ran during SXSW 2025 and was assembled in under 24 hours, drawing 107 attendees and 6 investors over a single day of programming. Its centerpiece was the Yorkseed Investor Panel, Beyond the Check, a candid conversation with six investors on what actually makes founders investable. Austin is also where Yorkseed itself was born, growing out of an unofficial SXSW 2023 events list that went viral during a three-hour train ride from New York to D.C.
Where the 2025 debut was built overnight with a single afternoon of programming, the 2027 edition is being planned with a full runway ahead of the event — the first time Yorkseed House has had more than a few days to prepare an Austin activation. Yorkseed said the additional lead time will go toward multi-day programming, a larger venue footprint, and deeper coordination with SXSW's official schedule, rather than changing the format's core drop-in character.
"Austin is where this whole thing started, on no notice and no budget. Coming back for 2027 with a real runway to plan it properly feels like the right way to close the loop."
The announcement lands roughly a year after Yorkseed House's second edition in New York and just weeks after its Paris debut during RAISE Summit — meaning the 2027 Austin edition arrives as the most experienced version of the series yet, built on lessons from four editions across three countries rather than the single-day proof of concept that started it.
The 2027 edition will follow Yorkseed House stops in New York (NY Tech Week 2026, with BelongNYC and Flowstate), Paris (RAISE Summit 2026, with Osha Bergman Watanabe & Burton LLP), and Lisbon (Web Summit 2026, planned for November), continuing the series' expansion beyond its original single-city footprint. Venue and full programming for SXSW Austin 2027 will be announced closer to the event; Yorkseed said waitlist members will be notified first as programming is confirmed.
